Summary

Giordano's is one of Chicago's most iconic culinary institutions, renowned worldwide for their double-crusted stuffed deep dish pizza. Their nationwide shipping operation brings the legendary taste of Chicago directly to customers across the US — from signature pies to limited-time collaborations with other beloved Chi-Town brands.

The Problem

Giordano's was running their DTC shipping business on UltraCart, a platform that had become a ceiling rather than a foundation. The architecture restricted their ability to scale, introduce upsells and cross-sells, and integrate with modern marketing and fulfillment tools. A prior attempt to migrate to Shopify in 2023 had failed due to unresolved issues with reporting, product variant setup, and fulfillment workflows — creating internal skepticism around another attempt. With strong growth momentum and a Q4 peak season on the horizon, the stakes of getting it right were high.


The Solution

Electric Eye led the migration from UltraCart to Shopify, designing a new storefront on Maestrooo's Impact theme customized to bring Giordano's brand heritage to life. Key templates were built out for the homepage, about page, Chi-Town Flavors collaborations, and a custom pizza pack product template. A complex bundle builder was developed to support the way Giordano's sells pizza packs — allowing customers to mix and match configurations in a single, intuitive purchase flow. The migration included full historical data transfer, 301 redirects, and continuity for Klaviyo and other third party apps — all timed to land before peak season.
